I already have an established business I would like to change a few word in the business to more accuretly reflect what we do. We are now Sunset Pools & Spas LLC. We would like to be able to advertise and have signage under " Sunset Spas & Leisure" . Will I have to change every legal document I have I.e Bank Account Names, Merchant Service, Lease Documents etc? Or can customer's still write checks to the LLC?

As far as Banking goes, you will have to change the name. Banks are not allowed to deposit checks made out to a business into any other account except that business account. (i.e. If your customers make their checks out to "Sunset Spas & Leisure" then you will need a bank account in that name.)

Not sure about the other documents, but I would assume you'll have to change those as well.

Trade names or dba names can be separate from the corporate name. In my business we accepted (and more importantly - the bank accepted) checks to either name. Legal documents were signed with the corporate name - not the trade name. But this is a state regulated issue and you may need to check with your state.

Why not apply for a "Service Mark". A little like a Trademark, but you can add it to your ads and signage.
No other changes necessary.
