i have tags with information on them but they are sun faded

You could try copying them on an ordinary copy machine. This will usually enhance the markings by increasing the contrast. A better way would be to digitally scan them, and then digitally process the images to greatly enhance the contrast. IrfanView is one such free software program that I use for this purpose that you can easily download off the internet for free. If you don't have a scanner then take them down to Kinko's and they can scan them for you for a small fee. If there is no pencil left at all, just indentations, then you may have to use a high tech laser scanner of some sort that can chart the hills and valleys for you so that they can then be converted back to pencil writing.
