Are you buyin' or drivin'? The last thing you want to put a new driver in is a small cracker box with a peppy engine . You need a mid 80's fullsize Olds,Caddy,Caprice,Lincoln, Mercury Marqius,or Ford LTD These cars have a full frame under them and weigh 2 tons. So if an Suv hits it or a Hummer it can stand up to the lickin' and keep the occupants tickin'. Be sure to get one with a v8 and pull a couple of plug wires off to keep the speed down. Gas mi. sucks but at least they will arrive home alive

Volvo's and Subaru's are always made well and get good mileage and safety. Get a car with all wheel drive or front wheel, with as wide as you can body width and tires. The wider the better traction for handling and safety.Small cars have handling problems at higher speeds and aerodynamic issues. SUV's still can have rollover problems, the springs can't handle body roll.
