Watch the competition from those places claiming to be wholesale. If you can buy products without a tax ID, they are not wholesale companies so anybody can (and will) sell the same products. What you really want to do is find unique items that aren't flooded in the market which will increase your profitability. You will get a definate advantage if you do get a business license, tax id, and go the legal route. Check with your local office of COSE (Council of Small Enterprise) that can help you get started without a large start up cost. They are really helpful. If you opt not to go that route, check out yard sales and closeout merchandise right there in your local neighborhood stores and talk to small business owners about selling on Ebay. Remember, Ebay has the most reputation but is not the only source for buying and selling. Check out Amazon, Yahoo, and Craigs List (your largest city near you may have one... go to a search engine and type craigs list). There is money to be made but you have to take the first step. Don't wait for your ship to come in ... swim out to meet it!!!

Stop messing around with sites that anyone can get into. I buy from www.jboutman.com. They stock over 30 manufacturers. Email them and say you are a reseller looking to set up a wholesale account. They will email you back a login id and password. Here is the email address: sales@jboutman.com

Go to garage sales and to consignment shops. You'd be surprised how much you can make by listing things online. I suggest choosing one or two things, like baby clothes and books or videos and video games, or something like that, at first, and then expanding later on, once you really get to know the business. www.Half.com is great for books, movies, music and video games, and you don't have to wait for auctions.
