I'm trying to help a friend that she keeps telling me that she's sterile and cannot have babies. This is really an emotional subject for her but I would like to help. She tells me that she cannot ovulate.. Is there such thing to not ovulate??? Can she fix that? And on the other hand her husband of 11 years have low sperm count. Can he fix that as well??? They're really nice people and I think theyy deserve at least one baby. I can imagine for those that cannot have kids- it must be terrible not knowing the real feeling of a parent. Can someone please help- she cannot find info as quick as I could cause she's always busy and working. Thank you guys!

How old is your friend? Does she have periods? If she has periods then she ovulates... Have they actually been to the doctors about this? Or is she just guessing? If there isn't something terribly, horribly wrong there are all kinds of small things that they can do...you could do some Googling and print the pages for her to read on the various methods of increasing their chance of conception.

It is hard to come to the realization that you may never have a child...my daughter has CF and though we could have more we realize that financially it isn't the wisest decision for us to have another of our own because CF is an extremely expensive illness to maintain and another child between my husband and me would have at least a 50% chance of having CF as well. People ask all the time when we are going to have another and it is a heavy answer that they get...because the question was heavier than they realized.

There are many many children in the world who are in need of good parents...or at least willing parents. I think that adoption or becoming foster parents is a very good option and may actually be included in the plan for your friend's life.

She can have an egg removed, and his sperm can be inseted into it under medically controlled enviornment, and then reinseted into her womb. She needs to go to a fertility clinic and discuss options after tests on them both.
