I approach your question from a metaphysical standpoint, in which there is a Oneness for all existence. In this context, the absolute worst thing human beings can do is build their actions and reactions upon a foundational "lie" (incongruence) of self-hatred set within their core belief system, beginning during infancy and/or early childhood. It is from such an imbalance that all other "evils" or idiosyncracies arise, to include the behaviors cited in most of your responses so far. What if "Love thy neighbor AS theyself" is not instructions for how to behave but is instead a simple universal principle---that we can only love others to the extent we are able to love ourselves? As Unity, Science of Mind Churches and quantum theories put it: As the mind goes, the energy flows. Most (if not all) of the atrocities committed by humankind can be traced back to a single instigating person filled with repressed self-loathing who resonates with those of like mind, who then collectively project this distorted self-image into the world in a misguided attempt to balance from an imbalanced foundation. This sets up a "pendulum swing" from one extreme to the other in a blind attempt to "get even"---an impossibility until centered in a positive sense of self.

In my opinion, the worst thing we can do is waste whatever God has given us. He gave us LIFE and he gave us different GIFTS, wether we can be good talkers or be good artists, maybe He gave some people the gift of teaching, or the ability to express oneself through writing.
We all have some special gift and is our responsibility to discover and develope it. We would help others with it.
The worse thing would be waste our time in this life and the chance to make this world a better one.

Crimes against children, abuse and/or molestation, are unquestionably the most despicable acts of which man is capable. And, yes, I'm aware of the atrocities of WWII and, on a lesser scale, elsewhere since. But, on an individual basis, to beat, burn, bind, cage, and sexually violate Innocent youngsters is the absolute worst thing anyone can do.

Abuse a child in any way...because when this is done it not only hurts the child physically and emotionally, it also may create a cycle of abuse that's passed down through that child's anger as they grow.
Plus when a child is abused their innocence is taken away and they can have a hard, if not impossible time trusting anyone again.

Taking your own life away is the worst possible thing a human could do to itself. There is always tomorrow, don't give up!

Crime without purpose and without a remorse. Example: It's somehow better to steal from someone for money and feel bad about doing it (even though it didn't stop you) than it is to hurt or wreck something of someone's for no reason and think it is funny or not care that you did it.

rape, in murder the only thing the person does is make the person see what's after life if there is anything... in rape, (speaking of women/girls) you take away the dignity, you put them in a position where they are scared, this makes guy's not want to date them, lowering their self respect and hightening their self conciousness, not to mention the humiliation and pain for the family, even thought the victim is really the only true victim

Murder an innocent child.
(Exd 20:13) Thou shalt not kill. (murder)
(Deu 5:17) Thou shalt not kill. (Hebrew word is Murder)
(Mat 5:21) Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill (Murder); and whosoever shall kill (murder) shall be in danger of the judgment:
Be Watchful of those whom are private and seek out the poor and innocent.
(Psa 10:8) He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret places doth he murder the innocent: his eyes are privily set against the poor.
(Psa 94:6) They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.
He commanded us not to do these things.
(Mat 19:18) He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
The 10 Commandments being talked about here.
(Rom 1:29) Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
(Rom 1:30) Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
( Rom 1:31) Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
(Rom 1:32) Who knowing the judgment of God, that they that commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but also have pleasure in them that do them.
It’s all a matter of attitude. Change the mind and the heart follows. Then there will not be any worse things for man to do. Follow God and Live!

imo, the worst thing anyone can do is think that life [existence, reality, everything] is not love - love infinite, infinitely intense, unconditional, everlasting, brilliant, shining, amazing, unlimited, great
we all do it
we will all be rescued from this error and not punished
