I used ammonia to clean a product, but realizing that it would be a better idea to use bleach. I realize the dangers in mixing bleach and ammonia, and am wondering if/when i can use the bleach.

The danger is in the mixing of the two products at the same time...if you washed something with ammonia and then want to wash it with bleach it is alright....it is just the interaction of the chemicals at the same time that are gaseous. Go do your thing but always be careful when mixing any cleaning products.

Good luck on you cleaning project!!

rinse the product..then let it dry..then clean with bleach.. if it starts to smoke, then there is still ammonia on it. do not breath it in.. it will shut down your airway immediately!!.. best bet is to clean the product outside. be careful!!!

just rinse off the ammonia, everything will be fine, if by some chance they do mix, be sure to not breathe in fumes and yes there will be plenty of fumes!

Wash it with boiling hot water a few times before you switch to using some other solution to clean it.
