but now that i'm ordering off of the internet and can't see what the shirt looks like in person to determine if its big enough, should I go with the size I already have of another tee from Hot Topic or should I go up a size to be sure?
What do you think?

Since hottopic sells lots of different brands they might fit differently. I would buy what ever size typically fits. If 90% of your shirts are medium then that is what I would get. If you usually take a large then order large, unless it's the same brand as the m shirt.

Get a size bigger if its 100% cotton. It will always shrink in the dryer. :)
