2500+U.S. soliders dead, Iraqis chanting "death to america" , and billions upon billions of dollars that might as well have been thrown into a burning oil field sabotaged by Iraqi inssurgents. What's the point of it all now?

Jon H. I will say it once and only once " Iraq had nothing, I repeat, NOTHING to do with the September 11, 2001 attacks. Even our luantic leader Bush says that now.

Interesting point, Lawrence. I don't see war as entertainment in any way, but I doubt most Americans, Democrtas or Republicans, find this war entertaining. Virtual War online can be entertaining, but not the realities of real war.

Well ironically, FootballFan101, the answer may lie in your Yahoo Answers alias. Why do people like football? Some may say the rivalry, or the sportsmanship, or the cheerleaders. However, many people like football for the sheer violence and brutality. It excites them like a good action movie. The same goes with war. Americans, especially those that are pro-war, but never have the courage to actually participate in it, see war as detached entertainment. I know it’s bizarre and twisted, but you would be shocked to realize how bloodthirsty people are.

Hind sight is 20/20. We cant go back and change decisions already made. We are there now. What we need to do ( All Americans) is figure out a way to prevent this civil war and establish a government capable of defending itself from the area's real threat, Iran. If we leave there the power vacuum will be fill by the Islamic fundamentalists Shites from Iran. Then we will end up having to go over there again and more will die. We all need to put our heads together and find a workable solution that doesn't leave the door wide open for the fundamentalists.

Some people are so intellectually challenged that they still believe that Islamics are capable of democracy. Muslims will embrace democracy sometime around the day my horse learns to scuba dive.
