Great question. (Psyche is the soul in Greek). And yes it is true.
Why do people lie? I would say out of fear. There is no other reason to lie than fear of the consequences of your actions or fear of your ability to achieve sth without lying. So every time you lie you loose a little bit of your courage to face life and a bit of dignity and self esteem. You become a weaker soul.
To me lies are the worst narcotics someone can fall into. And I think that there is no way to get out of it and to change your life so it's better not to say that first lie even if it will make your life easier.

i don't think so...maybe i'm a bad person, but when i lie, i only feel nervous when i know that theres a chance that it can come back to bite me.
