Ethnobotany is reeeaaally cool stuff. it's the study of the usage of plants throughout different cultures. reeally cool book is called " tales of a shamans apprentice" about this guy that goes and visits all these different south american tribes learning how they use plants in their culture. It covers everything from healing the sick to hallucinogenics. really cool. Also try "medicine quest" which is somewhat similar talking about finding cures to deadly ailments and diseases through poisons and toxins of plants and animals.

Yes, it's a study of plants (botany part) that are used by different peoples (the ethno part). For example, an ethnobotanist might go to live with a tribe in the Amazon rain forest and observe what plants are being used to treat illness, make dyes, produce needed fibers, etc. It has a social science part and a natural science part, but it is considered a part of biology.
