you love your mother, but you are not IN love with your mother. you dont wish to marry her, or bare children with her. thats the difference. " i love you " can be for anyone. love your uncle, cousin, friends. But " Im in love with you " is only for that very special someone. it's complicated for no reason

If you have ever been in love you would know that there is a difference. You either love someone or you don't, true, but there are many different kinds of love. I loved my fish Fred but I didn't want to marry him.

no, I love lots of people, I care about them, I worry about them, I would give and do anything for them. That's love. In love, is confusing and it actually bites, because in love means the jackass has your heart and won't return it and you can't do anything about it. In love is something, no matter how hard you fight it it doesn't go away and doesn't get better. My advice, stick with love and never fall IN LOVE.

Chris Rock once said:
“If you’ve never contemplated murder, you haven’t been in love. … If you haven’t practiced your alibi in front of a mirror, you haven’t been in love.”
When this makes sense to you, you will understand how you can love someone but not be in love with them. Love can make you crazy and mad. I always love my husband, but there are days when I have that alibi on the tip of my tongue...

no not necessarily. I love my best friend but not the same way i love my kids. I would kill for my kids - it is an intense love. My best friend I love - but I would not commit a crime for her. My husband I am in love with. I think about him all the time and when I am without him I wish he was with me. I desire to be close to him.

There are different kinds of love though, platonic being one of them. There is the love of friends, the love of parents, the love of spouses, etc.

There are many kinds of love. When you are 'in love' then it is considered romantic love, love between man and woman.
Now platonic love means affection between man and woman.

My ex told me that he loves me but he isn't in love with me. It is a way of breaking up with someone that you don't really want to hurt. It doesn't work.

yeah but i think if you're "in love" with someone it means your also sexually attracted to them, but loving someone is more like a family & friends type love.
