My friend just found out a few weeks ago that she was expecting her first child. She had a miscarriare only a month before getting pregnant again. Now she is to the point where she hasn't eaten in 2 days due to sickness. She is having horrid pains in her and coughing up blood. She doesn't smoke and she is only 18. Could this have anything to do with the pregnancy? Is it a side affect of another miscarriage or could this be something far more sinister? Everything was going fine up until 2 days ago. I'm trying to convince her to go to the E.R. but she is so worried and her fiance is just complaining about it saying its just another excuse for attention. He's the one that wanted a child but has been hoping for another miscarriage and even threatened to take care of it himself. Could he have done something or given her something to make this happen? I'm just so worried and want things to go well for her. Any advice on making her go to the emergency room?

I was with her for her first sonogram in this pregnancy, she is definitely pregnant, for the person who asked. Her sister is the first one who told me about the blood because she was getting sick everywhere. I highly doubt its for attention.

No she hasn't been sick, it only started like 2 days ago. And I am worried he did do something. I have heard from her sister who lives with her that he has put her hands on her. He has always been a little on the crazy side. I just don't know if he would go so far as to poisen her.

Tell her this.. she sounds dumb not to be mean. tell her that if the baby is a certain age or in developement some states can put the parent under murder or other charges. even if the child is unborn. if authorities find out if child lives she can get the baby taken away from her. or she could die.. maybe it is another excuse for attention. cna they prove shes pregnant now and was before. and even had a misscarriage?

tell her she needs to go.

Sounds like she could of gotten something in her lungs needs to go to hospital. Has she had a bad cold. Coughing can cause a miscarriage.

Coughing up blood is never a good thing. This sounds way more serious. She needs to visit the ER asap. If something should rupture in her lungs, she could drown in her own blood. She could DIE.

Don't ask her MAKE HER GO it could be something really serious and coughing blood shouldn't be from a miscarriage get her away from her bf and talk her into going stay w/her if you can so she won't be alone and then maybe she will go.

the throwing up blood doesn't sound like anything to do with the pregnancy i would go to the doctor you can't make her go unfortunately unless she is willing but you could call poison control and tell them you think your friend has been poisoned in some form or fashion thats what it sounds like to me her boyfriend sounds perty physco but didn't you say he wants the child so why is he acting so crazy? i wish you luck with the situation it sounds horrible!

My personal suggestion for getting her to go to the ER is invite her out somewhere anywhere make something good up. pick her up in your car or however you might have control of the situation and just drive her there yourself. my friend did it to me. and I appreciate it. I'm sure she won't have hard feelings toward you for it.
