they could be able to even with the undeniable fact that the problem with bypass breeding animals is their offspring might want to no longer be fertile or basically one genr and hence the offspring can not reproduce so that is unnecessary, a lion and tiger crossbred to make ligers with became out might want to easily produce a lady so no duplicate might want to take position thats why those are literally not crossbred, will be an same for rats and rabbits.

ostricow..picture this, a cow with fethers and lays big ole brown eggs, chews on the cud, when it gets scared it will stick his big ole head in the ground, the meat would taste like chicken though

if they mated, they would bear no offspring, they aren't the same species, not even the same genus (as a few things have been successfully bred). they aren't even the same order...
