why is that every homeless person or bum smoke cigarrets it had me thinking did they start smoking before or after they became homeless because thats an expensive habbit. What do you think?

thank you! this bugs me too! I live in a city with homeless people and there is this one man that is never bothering people but he just sits on the street with a sign and is smoking. he is always wearing different clothes too and they look nice, so I think that these people just do it to get extra money for cigs and alcohol.

most likey it was before they became homesless most homeless people are on drugs or have been on drugs and from my exprience most people that do drugs smoke ciggs.it like makes the high better .on the other hand i wouldnt really be surpised if someone started smoking after they became homeless .it must be really stressful to not have a home so smoking its there way to kill stress .its not an expensive habbit if your always asking others for a cigg .thats what bums do they see someone smoking then they ask that person for a cigg

They're homeless,not dead.Nicotine is one of the hardest drugs to kick.Id rather smoke than eat if I had to choose.,Most of the time. lol

i think being homeless is a lifestyle choice, there are ways to get back on theyre feet, they do seem to smoke alot & also seem to drink alot of alcahol, both r expensive habbits, who knows when they started...? does it matter when they started...?

probably calms them down im sure they lead a very stressful life not knowing where their next meal or place to sleep will be...most of them dont buy cigarettes they borrow from others or smoke butts that they find

maybe before, but then again maybe after. i imagine it would be pretty stressful being homeless, and hell, their are butts everywhere!
