Your assumption is that the people in the govt. must be EVIL and therefore 'allowed' something like that to happen. Try this thought experiment: maybe the people in the govt. are just as fallible as you, and with so many possible catastrophes, weren't able to prophesize which tack the terrorists might--and, in this case, did--take.
P.S. "Evidence" is not necessarily quantitative. Sometimes, thinking helps.

I know for a fact that Bill Clinton was the one behind that 9/11 attack. Prove otherwise.
It was planned on his watch.
He and the Ds put a wall between the FBI and CIA preventing the information needed to pass from one to the other.
He and the Ds gutted the US human intelligence operations during the 90s.
The training of pilots happened on his watch.
He turned down OBL's capture several times during his administration.
He did practically nothing to Al Qaeda during his watch.
He was either incompetent or in bed with OBL as well as Monica.

George W. Bush. I don't think he's intelligent enough to think up something like what happend on 9-11. He's not a "just-let-it-happen" type of guy. -In fact, most of the people in our government aren't. They're into making work for themselves- so they can go home with a paycheck every week. And they DON'T like surprises or upsets to their routines (like what followed on & after 9-11). ... Sorry- I just don't buy into that conspiracy theory stuff. Bin Ladin is just smarter than most of the rest of us. -And every day that goes by that we can't find him- proves it.

If we are so superior and informed with all of our great regulations and technology a blind monkey could have detected SOMETHING was wrong. The government can't present a document showing they didn't let it happen (Or more likely, actually do it).
