It floated the same way an aircraft carrier floats and the same way that a supertanker or freighter floats.
The principle of buoyancy.
=) It still seems weird though that something made out of tons of steel can float huh? :)

The same way all ships float - by displacing water that weighs more than the air in the displacing vessel. Also known as the principle of buoyance.
Best wishes and God bless.

It floated like any other boat, which is to say, the air inside kept it on top of the water. However, when the iceberg popped the rivets along a seam, the water got in and flooded the supposedly "unsinkable" ship and down it went.

like any other boat does, but if u mean the time being wen it was gonna sink, it had five compartments that could flood befor the actuall ship would start sinking. wen the titanic was ahlf under, the fith compartment at the bottom of the boat was half full

Just like any other ship...by displacing an amount of water that weighed more than the boat it's self.
How it sank is what blew most peoples minds!

it hit an ice burg, which caused a giant hole it, which water quickly, filled, and thus, it sunk , because the Titanic did not have enough buoyancy left to float.
