Cant find in Guiness Hit Singles but can remember it being played. Was never released in UK by Gilbert so why does everyone my remember the song

He put it on an album in1971, and it was released as a single in 1976, used to be used quite a lot on the telly as background music.

I have just checked the " Guinness book of Top 40 Charts (every chart, every week, from 1960 to 1991!) and there is no mention of the record !

I do remember this vaguely. Gilbert O'Sulivan did write a few good tunes in his day.
