press and hold then menu and center butons.

You should really call Apple and tell them a few choice words. However, if you're not into the cussing those asses out mood, do this. Hold the middle button down until it shuts off then, swith the hold button on and off. Turn it back on. If that doesn't work just leave it alone it will unfreeze itself. That's what I did.

Make sure its off hold and hold down the select dot in the middle and either the play or menu button at the same time. I can't remember, but try either one, if on doesn't then try the other one.

that always happens with me, press the middle one and menu, hold it down for a few seconds until it comes back again,.

first answer got it right. it doesnt have to be off. mine froze during mid song !

menu and select simultaneously. it might take a few tries. happened to me just the other day.

if you hold on
middle and left.
you'll get a totally different menu.
try it.
