Well, that's sort of like asking, "how do I do brain surgery?"

I don't mean to be dismissive, but the program is really that deep and powerful...and confusing.

Training, books, videos and classes on Adobe Photoshop is a huge industry - just search Amazon.com or google "photoshop training" and you'll see what I mean.

There are some good online basic tutorials so you might be able to do some basic things relatively quickly...but most professional photographers who work in digital (as opposed to film) spend their entire careers learning more and more about what they can do with Photoshop.

Sorry, hope that doesn't discourage you. It's an amazing program if you have patience.

I started with the tutorials that go with the program, then i studied the tutorials online and bought some text books. I liked doing stuff with my pictures in photoshop, it was a good motivation i guess.
Now I am getting ready to pass the ACE exam.
I suggest that you check out www.good-tutorials.com or www.tutorialoutpost.com, there are plenty of cool photoshop tutorials, which are all free. Only think about the stuff you can do with your pictures! You should view some works of others, so that you have the idea of how to improve.
There are great tutorials on www.adobe.com but they are kinda complicated for you yet, try them when you learn the basics.
Photoshop is not hard to master, especially when you are a girl !
Good luck learning!

photoshop is one of the more powerful programs out there when it comes to image editing. It's also has a pretty big learning curve. I would recommend buying a photoshop book to get your feet wet.
