No way... and if they'd give us the vote on it, it would never get in... but they wont... and eventually, they'll try to sneak it in!

Grrr!

The pound is alive and kicking! And if truth be known, most British folk hope it stays that way. The pound is unique in the world and typifies Britain ...... if we ever adopt the Euro, I think a little bit of our country will simply be lost. It's a bit like America and the dollar ... now there's a currency that is simply US through and through and accepted worldwide. Will you guys ever adopt another currently? Hell no!
Long live the pound !!

No we are still pounds Sterling and long may it remain so. But I can see why it makes sense to go euro especially (but not in my life time I hope) if your trading in Europe. Leave us with something we can call our own Please.

Edit: Please Ruzkarta do not tell us what we must do and not do i.e. that we must have the Euro, Okay!

Still pounds sterling - and may it stay that way while it's in our economic interest. However if it's in our interest to join the Euro then I would support it. You have to move on sometimes - otherwise we'd still be bartering sheep, bear baiting and sending small children up chimneys in a smoke filled Dickensian smog!

Definately not and I don't think we ever will.

The main reasons are purely enonomical - our strong economy and low unemployment are due to us keeping the pound.

The Euro zone suffers from economic woes due mainly to their inability for members to adjust interest rates to suit their own country's economic state.

The UK people are overwhelmingly against us joining the Euro, partly for sentimental reasons, and partly because we have lost too much Sovreignty, and too much of our traditional ways to European laws and directives that joining the Euro would be the final blow.

I hope it will never happen.

I'm surprised at how many English people still think they use Pounds Sterling.
Check your English bank notes, the designer forgot to include the word Sterling causing much confusion when they first appeared and people tried to exchange them abroad, some countries gave English notes a lower rate as they weren't technically proper currency.
Scotland and Northern Ireland (i think) still use Pounds Sterling.

OK
The Englands are in the European Alliance or Union, they have to be with euro, but they're not. They're still with pounds. If they changed their money, you'll understand it by Internet, newspapers, TV shows!
