I always wanted to join a sport. I just never knew what to do. I am energetic and driven. I just want to do something that would be fun for me. I was thinking something along the lines of boxing? I'm not sure. But after I do pick a sport, where would I do it and get the equipment? Thanks for any and all suggestions.

Thx,
Annie.

Take up something that interests you and something you are suited for. If you are a good runner, I'd suggest basketball or softball. With softball you could socialize some as well because there are all female leagues and there are mixed leagues where you could hang out with like minded physically active people.

I'd stay away from boxing myself. You will get beat up and depending on who you go up against you could get hurt or disfigured and that could be for life. Boxing entails hitting, possibly taking a few in the mouth and then missing teeth.

You also don't say your age...so it also depends on if this is a high school thing, college thing or if you are beyond that. I would stick to a team sport myself...it's easier to stick to when you are with a great group of people you like to hang out with..

the two sports that are really fun, energetic and keeps you in absolutely great shape are soccer and swimming. if you like working with others and being a part of a team, soccer is for you. if you like standing out on your own and being an individual, then try swimming. also, with swimming, your potential for injury is very small since it is a very low impact sport. i'm sure boxing would also be fun, but keep in mind the potential for injury (like getting your nose broken) is quite higher than other sports. whatever you chose, make sure you have fun.

Triathlon: Swimming, biking, and running. Races of all distances taking place all over the country and the world.

Plus results are based on time, so improvements are very easy to measure and see.

If you have a lot of energy maybe you should go and check out soccer, its good for people with a lot of energy. You get to run and do some exercise, besides if you're good looking you don't want your face to be f----- up!

My suggestion is go to a gym or boxing center. Ask one of the personal trainers. They are loaded with the information you are seeking.
