Over the last week or so i have been getting the odd achey throbbing pain in either one of my arm pits, not high up more on the side of my breast, sometimes left sometimes right, the pain isnt bad and only lasts a few seconds, but i notice it. also over the last week i have been having hot sweats, i am 38 year old female.

Had you been lifting heavy things before the onset of the pain? If so you may have strained your muscles. Had you, for example, been decorating? Again you can easily overstretch muscles which aren't regularly used. This has happened to me in the past! But as the other posts say, it's always best to check it out with your GP.

Same advice as other people here. It could be so many things, from infection to menopause, lymphoma to muscle ache. You should see a doctor for a proper examination. If one can diagnose disease without seeing people and from such short history, then I can work from home from now on!

Sounds like the menopause, if it gets too bad go to the doctors and they can give you hormone replacement tablets to help. Also get fitted properly for a bra

dont take any chances, just go see the doctor if the pain gets worse and if the pain hits to different places in your underarm area.

are you due on i get pain like that before period also could be menopause see r for test or get one from boots there like a pregnancy test

You could have a lymphnoidal infection, in any case see a doctor.
