Dimensions are 16ft by 32ft.
To convert multiply 16ft * (.25in/1ft) = 4in & 32ft * (.25in/1ft) = 8in
New dimensions would be 4in by 8in

You need to convert the actual measurement to the plan measurement using your selected scale.

You want to use 0.25 inches on your paper plan to represent 1 foot in your garden. There are 12 inches in a foot, and 4 "quarters" in an inch.

So 12 x 4 = 48, that means your scale is really 1:48.

That means 48 units in the garden are equal to 1 unit on paper. It doesn't matter what the units are - feet, meters, furlongs, or crow feathers.

If you want to stick with feet and inches, then the scale is 1 inch = 4 feet, or the inverse, 4'=1".

For example, if you had a flower bed 8 feet long, it would be 2" long on paper if you are using a 1":4' scale.

Although it can be done, I don't recommend mixing feet and inches because it can get complex and leads to mistakes. That's why engineers and scientists like to use the metric system, or at least tenths of feet instead of inches.
