x = 77/12

first you add x from the right side to the left to get

x - 5/3 = 19/4

then you add 5/3 to both sides

x = 19/4 + 5/3

you then convert both fractions to denominator 12...to do so you multiply 19 and 4 by 3...and 5 and 3 by 4

to get 57/12 + 20/12 = x

or x = 77/12

good luck

x=77/12

add 1/2 x to both sides

x - 5/3 = 19/4

add 5/3 to both sides

x = 19/4 + 5/3

19/4 = 57/12
5/3 = 20/12

x = 57/12 + 20/12

x = 77/12

Hope that helps.

x = 19/4 + 5/3 (balance equation)
x = 57/12 + 20/12 (found common denominator)
x = 77/12 (addition)
x = 6 and 5/12ths

(1/2)x - (1/2x) = -5/3 + 19/4
x= 20/12 + 57/12 = 77/12
x= 77/12

(1/2)x - (5/3) = (-1/2)x + 19/4
(1/2)x+(1/2)x=19/4+5/3
x=(19*3+5*4)/12
x=(57+20)/12
x=77/12

1/2x+1/2x -5/3+5/3=-1/2x+1/2x+19/4+5/3
x=77/12

1/2(77/12)-5/3=-1/2(77/12)+19/4
-367/231=-1439/308

Add (1/2)x to each side, then you get
x - (5/3) = 19/4
Add (5/3) to each side then you get
x = 19/4 + 5/3

I'll leave the simplification to you.
