It depends on what you do. Working for Disney can be anything from dressing up as the Little Mermiad, to selling food/merchandise, cleaning up trash, performing on the stages, running lights, advertising, answering mail, designing new apparel, logos, doing whatever. I assume it is like any other job; if you enjoy what you are doing and who you are working with, than I am sure it is Great!! But if you don't like little kids, or working with lots of differnt and new people (of all ages), than you prolly wouldn't like it as much, but thats just my opinion.

It's okay, if you don't mind making very low pay (normally starting wage is $6.35 an hour & raises are no higher than .20 cents a year). I mean yes, you get free passes, & discounts during the Christmas season, but over all it's very stressful. During peak season, if you are full time expect to work 65 hours plus a week, part time is normally 25-30 hours per week. They are very strict on call ins & there are so many things that you have to do as long as you are a employee (actually called Cast Member). You can meet alot of famous people, but no asking for autographs or photos (you will be fired on the spot if you get caught, luckily I never got caught). You have to work Holidays & yes, you get Holiday pay but only if you work the day before, day of & day after that holiday.

Overall it's just okay, it's nothing to be really proud about. It's a nice part time job though, but I would never work there full time again.

Working for Disney is fun! Granted, you won't make much.... unless you are in entertainment as a character, singer, dancer, etc.... but the perks are well worth it! When you work for Disney ... be it part time, full time, as a college program kid, or seasonally, you get access to any Disney theme park (this includes Disneyland in California and Disney World in Florida) for free! You also get a percentage off of all merchandise and at some Disney restaurants.
I worked as part of the WDW College Program at Disney World. I was cast as a Merchandise Hostess inside the Animation Courtyard at The Disney MGM Studios. I loved it! I met some wonderful and amazing people (that I am to this day still great friends with) and even spoke with quite a few celebs!

I highly recommend working for them. I do know that working at Disney World is better than Disneyland.... Disneyland is a bit too lax with a few things and their training just isn't up to par with Disney World. I recommend working in Florida.

If you are enrolled in college, you can apply to work as an intern, like I did. Check out http://www.wdwcollegeprogram.com for details.

If you are not enrolled in college, you can visit Disney's Career posting website at: http://www.disneycareers.com

Good luck!

My daughter has just "self-terminated" as she has been placed in magic kingdom, working until 3am,4am and third week in told to work until 5am in a retail outlet. She was on a 12 month placement and housed with 3 other girls who all work day shifts. They wake her up when going to work, etc and of course socialise separately as a result. Not all what is promised, and very difficult to find anybody to listen or understand these issues. Definitely treated as a number than a "cast member" . I guess some jobs are better than others, just be prepared for the worse case scenario as it could happen.

Its really just like any other job, except that we (cast members) have the power to do things to make guests feel special and happy that you can't do at other places. For example, I worked at a restaurant in EPCOT when I did the WDW College Program and we had our own birthday song that a group of us would sing and we gave guest a cookie with a candle in it. We would ask little kids in costumes to sign our autograph books too. It feels really good when the parents are so happy that you made this great experience for their kids and they ask to take a picture with you. You get to make magic everyday you go to work.
Of course, getting into the parks and Pleasure Island free wasn't bad either. Anywhere you go in town there are discounts for WDW Cast Members. Also once you work for Disney you can get basically any job you want.

Unlike what it seems from outside, working for Disney is a serious business. To create the illusion of a paradise, the workers, also called "cast members" work hard to hide all the reality of the business.

Company policy controls every aspect of your day in front of the customers. (called On-State)

If you do not like to follow rules this is NOT the right job for you. If you can not control your emotions when customers (guests) starts to lash out at you for no logical reasons what-so-ever, this is not a job for you.

I am not saying these things happen everyday, but when it does, you are required to treat them with at-most courtesy and do everything you can to make his/her day better.

Is it a "fun" job? Well, it IS a job that they pay money for you to do. You come to your own conclusions. Is it a rewarding job? Yes, it can be. Like any job, it is what you make out of.

My personal opinion is, it is a good place to start and learn. Is it a good place to grow? You'll find out when you start your job. For some, yes, for some, no.

They don't. So many people want to work for Disney. There is a building on Disney property called Casting. This is where you would go to apply for a position. The culture of Disney World is fascinating, but the pay is bad and you would be part of a union. You might be hired for a status without benefits as well.

I would guess fun you get bonuses and the park to yourself and family members for 2 days a year that would do it for me plus have you seen some of the princes wandering around that place talk about "office" romance

It SUCKS!!!!

Low pay, crazy heat (weather), bad kids, snooty parents, grumpy employees (behind the scenes).

Only the granparents seem nice!
