As a dyslexic, I do find that I omit words sometimes, put them in the wrong order and generally do the same thing with spelling, whether it is type-written or handwritten.
I received special training as a child to help me cope with my disability that has done me a world of good. The main coping mechanism that I rely on is the repeated, instantaneous checking of absolutely everything I do. It's like a ping system. I constantly check what I'm doing as I'm doing it. It makes reading a bit slower, but I find that I comprehend materials alot better than most people do.
Sorry for the long answer.

Yes. I guess that's bound to happen, because of the way the brain works.
Spell check is fantastic though, isn't it? And I've found that you can improve dyslexia bu boosting your self esteem, and practising hand-to-eye co-ordination.
I suffered a lot at my very traditional school and was called stupid and lazy. The lack of understanding and injustice of it compounded the problem until I was an adult.
My son was dyslexic in primary school - maths as well as English. It helped that I understood what it was like, and I worked on boosting his self confidence. I think that for him, practising throwing and catching, and later, going to Taekwondo and doing well in that, helped him to keeo his dyslexia under control.
He has just achieved three A'levels at grade A!!

Hell yeah! Just a couple of minutes ago, I misread a question, switching the first letters around. Damn....I was gonna say dyslexia right now, but I just misspelled it two ways by starting it with an X and a S.

That's because typing IS writing, reading and translating words from the brain to the keyboard.'
