So about my mother being an alcoholic I am 7 months pregnant and dont need the stress right now. This kills me because I dont like seeing her destroy her life but in the mean time she has been to rehab AA meetings dont work for her and she had a sponsor and they just got into a big fight. So I dont know..... my dad works out of town for the week like 4 hours away and leaves every monday and my sister is out Alberta and my other sister is leaving to Toronto because she is 15 and dropped out of school early and I am going back to school. So I dont know what to do..... I know that she has to do this on her own.

I have spent a great deal of my life around alcoholics and the stress that is brought on by watching those you love destroy their lives and their health is overwhelming. I have a support system of other grown up children of alcoholics that I have found invaluable. You may want to try to make the time to go to a couple of Alanon meetings and connect with others who know exactly what you are going through. You need to know that you do not have to be responsible for your mother. You need to worry about your own child that will be here soon. Good luck.

You are pregnant and need to concentrate on you and your baby. Your mom is an adult and she does need to do this on her own. You have to leave her alone and stop stressing about her. She has your dad to take care of her and he should be smart enough to know what has to be done. Be there for her if you can - for support, but don't stress yourself out or put yourself in a bad place that might affect you or your baby.
