If you don't want to be the godparent, then don't, just say no. Do NOT tell your mate the reason. But it shouldn't be all about the kid's looks. My friend's kid was a really ugly baby, and at 3 he's gorgeous. Plus, many cute kids go through a really unfortunate phase looks-wise around puberty. You going to drop him then? Sounds to me like you might not be ready to be a godparent. Just think hard before you decide, is what I'd say.

Just say thank you but that yoiu are not a godfather material if the baby irks you so much. You cant provide the baby with love anyways, since you already think it is like a cabbage patch doll...HAHAAHA funny way to describe a baby.Which godfather would label his godson as that? So give the chance to someone else, dont ruin the baby;s life. But dount offend your friend either.

Your reason for not wanting to be the godparent of your BEST mates child is the baby's looks? How shallow is that? How stupid and immature is that? You difinetly shouldn't be the godparent, on the grounds that you are a moron and that baby deserves better.

thats pretty sad buddy ya i agree some kids dont come out looking so well but that has nothing to do with being honored a godparent to the child he must think a lot of u to give you and honor like that.the baby will grow out of it most do.be the best man u can be and step up and do the right thing for them.

God has sent you an opportunity to play God and you are thinking about it.How about shedding some ego and trying to see better things in people?Some selfless deed in this selfish world would do you a lot of good than bad.Maybe you havent heard of the "ugly duckling" story.Things in life keep changing.That kid who you have named an "it" a "cabbage" a "patch doll on drugs" doesnt desrve such words.Are you sure your kid will be born as "Tom Cruise"? I wonder what YOU look like.Didn't you know that God made everything beautiful in its own time? Psalm 139:14 '...I am fearfully and wonderfully made...' Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder & if you can't see any beauty in your friends' child then I think you should just tell them the truth,that you think their child is too ugly. The Bible says do unto others as you would have them do unto you...I shiver at the thought of you if you happened to be in an accident that would disfigure your 'beautiful' face & looks.God forbid.

Babies grow up. She might turn out ugly and she might not. Take the chance. Besides if you get into a fight with your best friend just remind him that he is the godfather of your child and you will win!!!!!!!!!! LOL Also your best friend must love you enough to want u to be the godparent of his child. Love them both

You never tell him what your thoughts are on the baby you tell him what a beuatiful child he has and be the god parent. Some day you will have a child what would you do if some one felt this way about your child? Never tell a parent they have an ugly child every parent thinks there baby is the most gorgeous baby on the planet.He's your best mater right? So suck it up amile and coo...cause the baby will love you!! I love my godmother to bad she's in heaven!!! early death for her she had heart problems.
