I am trying to write an introduction paragraph about myself for my english class. Any suggestions?

I am not lazy. I have been out of school for 3 years and I would like to know what would be a good start for a paragraph about me... I just do not like "My name is..." Lazy?? I work full time and I'm a single mother. I don't have time to be lazy.

when I am unsure about starting an essay I start by jotting down notes then use that to write it. By the way she is not necessarily lazy! Its hard starting back into school when you are out!!!!!

I would start by getting an idea of what about yourself you want to focus on. If you don't know before you start writing what you're going to write about, the paper/paragraph will probably be a disaster. I brainstorm on a separate piece of paper before I write anything. Brainstorming is when I just write whatever ideas comes into my head or, in your case, different interesting things about yourself. You may be very plain and boring, but I doubt it. Lazy you may be, but probably not blah. Once you have some ideas in front of you, pick one to use in your paragraph and start writing. Then reread the paragraph and make the needed changes to focus the paragraph on what you want it to say. You'll knock'em dead that way. Good luck.

usually u want to start generally, and then filter it down to something specific u are discussing. so, if it's a paper about you, perhaps u can start like this:

How does one describe a person? Is it how they act socially? is it what they think inside their own minds? Or is it a mixture of both? I believe that a person can be described through their personality traits and the way they solve problems. I tend to do This, This and This when I deal with others, as well as when I am faced with different situations.

then, each paragraph in the body would speak specifically, with examples, about This, THis and This.... :)!
