I've had both of my nostrils pierced for more than seven years now and I've had my septum pierced for about four years. I've also pierced more than a thousand nostrils and almost everyone I've pierced has said something along the line of, "That's it? That didn't hurt at all."

Piercings never hurt as much as your nervous mind will make you think it will beforehand. It pinches for a moment, then it's over. Your eyes will water a little bit, but if you were to get bumped in the nose the same thing would happen. It will be tender for a little while afterward, but if it is pierced by a reputable, professional piercer and you take proper care of it the tenderness will go away rather quickly.

It is an incredibly popular piercing and is considered far more acceptable than most facial piercings. People who get it done love it.

Go for it, but PLEASE listen when I tell you that it is imperative that you go to a REPUTABLE professional body piercer who will use a piercing needle. DO NOT HAVE IT DONE WITH A PIERCING GUN. Piercing needles hurt less and are vastly less traumatic to the tissue resulting in a healthier piercing. Lastly, follow your aftercare instructions closely. Take good care of it and you will have a much easier, more pleasant experience with the healing, nevermind keeping yourself healthy.

Nose piercing is very popular. So yeah I guess people like it.
I had mine dont when I was 14ish. I went to a salon and they used an ear gun and punched .. quite literally a hole in my nose. It really did hurt. After it healed it didnt hurt unless the ring came out over night and then putting it back hurt and made it hurt for a few days. It was similar to repiercing it.
When It was all healed and all good I found that the only time it hurt was when I had a pimple in the area or if the ring had come out and I had to put it back.
Nose rings are the most popular and common piercing. They are the easiest to look after so I would suggest it for a beginner.
