Bloody Greeks have to be such smart alecs when it comes to spelling. You'd think they had never thought of learning difficulties - they invested them.

Why do spell checkers allow people with poor spelling to add misspelled words to them?

Why is the word BIG so small and the word INFINITESIMAL so big?

Why can't you abbreviate the word abbreviate?

These and other questions are why people in other countries hate learning english.

I agree - as if it isn't difficult enough having it - very ironic that it isn't easy to spell.

But - look on the bright side - in the bad old days it was though that if someone couldn't learn to spell they were lazy or just plain thick!

Good question!
