are you going to continue to dress the same way every day after the first day of school? Because of not, what difference does it make?

Can you really remember what someone wore on their first day of school from last year?

No, didnt think so.

It really doesnt make that much of an impression. So i wouldnt stress over it too much. Wear something you feel good about yourself in, and leave it at that. Then you can enjoy yourself, and feel sorry for all the other girls who lamented for weeks over just the right outfit that no one will remember.

If you're switching schools and it will be your first day there, then first impressions are very important. You want to make sure that you wear something that you like so you don't mislead people. Also, remember to dress nice. Depending on where you live, you might want to wear pants in case the weather is slightly cool such as a pair of nicefitting jeans and a cute top. If its warm then a skirt would do fine- as long as it isnt super short. Remember to look nice, act yourself, and have a great first day of school.

• Styles – Fall 2006 is a revival of 80s fashion. From leggings to ankle boots, the style for back to school is undeniably 80s-inspired. To stay trendy this fall, pair leggings under a corduroy mini and top it off with a graphic tee. Add a cardigan for those cool autumn days. When choosing denim, be sure to opt for skinny, peg leg jeans. Pair these with a bold-print frock top and ballet flats. Sweater dresses are also hot for fall. Cinch these at the waist with a wide belt and pair with ankle boots.

• Colors – Cooler weather means warmer shades. Smoky grays, chocolate browns, rich plums, and navy blues are all the rage for fall. Make these colors pop with antique gold earrings, necklaces, and bracelets.

• Shoes – For shoes, the summer wedge carries through to the fall, although the heel is thinner and the toe shape is rounder. Ballet flats and ankle boots are very trendy as well.

• Accessories – Add punch to your wardrobe by getting oversized handbags in a variety of shapes and colors. Also, look for beaded necklaces, vintage-inspired bracelets, wide belts, wide headbands, and oversized sunglasses.

• Hair – While the clothing is 80s-inspired for back to school, the hair is definitely not. There won’t be any crimping or teasing for fall 2006 (thank goodness)! Instead, wear your hair long and straight if you want to stay on top of the hair trend. For a no-fuss ‘do, wear a low ponytail topped off with a wide headband (ala Lauren from The Hills).

Or, if you are a strainght male - jeans, a clean shirt, shoes.

i don't think you should dress up because that would give the impression that you're trying too hard. what you should wear is something that is comfortable to you. try a pair of jeans, flats, and some sort of blouse. add a long necklace or dangly earrings... and you're done. you can still look great with simple looks!
