My boyfriend said at older shows, it didnt matter who went down on the floor. But now since just about everywhere has high security because of 9/11, do they let you do that anymore?

It's not so much the security at a particular band's show, but the venue. "On the floor" - do you mean in a mosh pit or closer to the stage? Most venues don't allow a pit because of their insurance coverage. As far as getting close to the stage, that's often a combination of the venue security and the band's people. Some bands, like Poison, welcome fans to get down close, but not all do.

I'll admit security might be a bit tight. I suggest you simply follow the rules. Even if it is a concert.
