1 Micrometer, 1 μm, equals 1 E-6 meters.
1 centimeter, 1 cm, equals 1 E-2 meters.
Using these conversion factors,
There is 1/10,000 of 1 cm in 1 μm.
1 E-4 cm = 1 μm.
I assume that in your question "ug" is just a typo for "μm" since meters are a unit of length and grams are a unit of mass....the two cannot be converted.

There are 0.001 cm in a micron. cm is 10^-3 m and a micron is 10^-6 m.
It's easier if you think of it the other way, 1,000 microns in a cm.

well its so easy and i dont think its somehow physics. ok cm means 0.01m and micrometer=0.000001m
sooooooooo
to know how many cm are in 1 micrometer u just have to devide
0.000001m/0.01m=0.0001
thats it
:D

Yes, its getting confusing. Consider that 1000 um make a mm, and 10mm=1cm. That would make 10,000um=1cm and thus 0.0001cm (1x10E-4)cm=1um

“Centi” means 1/100 or 10^ (-2).
“Micro” means 1/ 100000 or 10^ (-6).
“Centi” is greater than “micro”.
“Centi” divided by “Micro” is {10^ (-2) / 10^ (-6)} = 10000 or 10^ 4.
Or “Centi” = 10000 “Micro”
Insert the word meter to both left and right side of the equation.
Therefore 1 “Centi” meter = 10000 “Micro” meter.
10000 “Micro” meter = 1 “Centi” meter.
1 “Micro” meter = 1 / 10000 “Centi” meter or 10^ (-4) “Centi” meter
