How can an employee's attitude affect morale in the workplace?

People usually don't feel comfortable working around someone who is crabby and/or sad. When you have someone in that "giddy, I'm ready to work" mood, then it brings the rest of the crew up. Pretty much any scenario can mentally effect the workplace, it just depends on the mood of each individual worker.
