World class speed is 4.2 seconds in a 40 yard dash. A person who is not an athlete should be able to still do it in 6 seconds. You're not used to it, you dont know how to start properly. You're obviously not that bad out of shape considering your height and weight, but I'm 6'4'' 240lbs and I can run a 40 in 4.9. I play a lot of basketball. Under 6 for a non experienced person is good.

offensive linemen in the NFL can do a 4.6-4.7 A real fast 40 is 4.2 Might not seem like much of a difference, but it is. For your height and weight, I'd say about 4.7-4.9
