My friend thinks abortion is only ok if you have been raped and got pregnant. I say it is wrong whether you were raped or not because thats what God says in the Bible. God loves the baby and you can always put the baby up for adoption. What are your opinoins?

Although we have the ability to abort the baby, we do NOT have the RIGHT.

I was at the March For Life at the beginning of this year. Some protest chick was out there (and I'm usually on the side of the protest people.....) with a sign saying: "If you outlaw abortion, I might die". SO apparently we're responsible for your irresponsibility and promiscuity??

There are organizations who will not only give you free counsel, they will help you pay for the doctor bills and find a decent home for the baby. There is no reason you should ever get an abortion. For those of you who say men have no right to tell a woman what to do with your body, what about all the men who pressure women into getting abortions when they don't really want to?

We kill over 1,000,000 babies a year. More babies have died from abortion in America than all the people in all the wars in U.S. history. Yet the same people protesting the Iraq War (which I don't support) want to support abortion.

It's not a matter of right and wrong, it's a matter of whether you think a woman should have the choice... That's why the word is pro-choice, not pro-abortion, theres a difference between getting an abortion every time you get pregnant, and getting it once when the baby is sick, or the girl is 13...
Look babies are sometimes discovered to have diseases like Cystic Fibrosis, where the baby would die within a week, and doctors reccomend having it aborted... In that situation, do you say have the baby anyway, and allow it to go through hell for a few days before dying... Pro-Life my ***, that doesn't count as life...
Plus, what happened to seperation of church and state? God has no say in whether or not abortion is legal.

To be honest whether you are into god or not - is god the one having the baby? I think not, this is a pointless question because there are so many reasons people have abortions that there is just no yes or no answer to!,my personal opinion is that having an abortion is a way of killing an innocent life but then again, being in a situation like having no money,no support both financialy & emotionaly, there would be no other choice,so in some cases an abortion can be right & in some cases wrong,it depends entirley on the situation.

if you were raped and got pregnant by the rapest what would you do? are you seriously saying that you would be ok with the fact that everyday for nine months you would be tormented by the fact that you are carring your rapest baby. god never says anything about if you were raped you should have the baby that was never said. try and put your self in such situation. i see nothing wrong with abortion in that case and a few others. abortion SHOULD NOT be used as a form of birth control if you are of age and there are no medical reason you can not have the baby and you were not raped. i have notice that alot of people on here have posted thing about abortion and how it is wrong and how you are going to go to hell. have any of you been in the situation? if you have then you wouldn't be saying things like this. if you haven't then shut up, how would you like if if i told you that you were going to hell for the one choose that was probably the hardest decision of your life. opinions are opinion and we all get the right to express them so that is my opinion you don't have to like it but guess what you have to respect it because it is my right as a human being

I agree it's wrong. If you get pregnant cuz of a crazy night out or something than it's just an easy way out of you being irresponsible and if its because of a rape then you should give it up for adoption like you said cuz everything happens for a reason and God still has a plan for that baby.

There is no absolute correct answer to this question. If the woman was raped, abortion is warranted. Would you want to have a baby created out of such hate? What if the mother would die if she gave birth? What if the child would die? What if both would die? What if she were raped by George Bush; do we need another Bush? I believe that it is a personal choice and there are some circumstances where abortion is acceptable.

In cases of Rape, Incest, or if the mothers life is in Jeopardy. Then Abortion is OK. But if a girl just can't keep her legs closed then she should take responsibility. Too often women want to sleep around then when they get pregnant they think oh well i'll just get an Abortion. not all but some. I just think if she was just being careless she should face up to her responsibilities as should the Father.

Im a libertarian, so I think it is completely up to the person. Morally, i have no problem with it, i dont personally feel the death of a blastocyst or fetus, if you can call it death, is a big deal. By the way, for all those christians out there who say they believe this because of their faith, can you show me where in the bible it says the death of a fetus or blastocyst by abortion is a sin? If your answer is, that it is a human person, well that is debatable, as science has not yet proved or disproved consciousness, and the ability to feel pain in a fetus, but i forgot, to religion, science takes the back seat, its too rational and factual for them.

By the way, how can you be for the death penalty and pro life, i think that will baffle me for a long time.

I think that the decision to have an abortion is up the the woman. Right or wrong in the eyes of God is not my business- its Gods. The woman in question knows what she can handle emotionally and abortion may be the only option that she can deal with. If that's the case then God will deal with her in the manner he or she sees fit.

Wrong in every situation except when a mother's life is at risk. If God put the ability in our hands, He wants us to use it.

Wrong because

1. By stopping life from living, you are killing something. Whether or not the fetus is viable is not relevant.

2. The need for most abortions is a behavioral one. When a female gets pregnant, she had sex, obviously knew the risks, and should live with the consequences. By allowing her to get rid of the problem, you are enabling irresponsible behavior.

If women want choice, choose not to have sex and your problem is solved.
