I have a Hyundai Elantra, & it's roomy, drives good, 4-door automatic, CD player with BASS, AC, heating, & can fit a baby seat.

It really depends on your budget. I have a Nissan Maxi ma with a car seat and it works out great.The Nissan Ultimo is very roomy now sow that might be a better choice than the Maxi ma.I also have a minivan, the Toyota Sienna and that is good if you have two or more kids. Believe me I wasn't a fan of the Minivan but they are great.

Look at the Pontiac Grand AM or Grand Prix I've owned 7 in my life and several other brands. With 67 years of experience they have served me with the least amount of trouble and their looks always stay in stile allowing you to keep a car longer. Strong safety test approved it strongly.

subarus are very good on gas and some of the safest cars on the road. the all come with baby seat anchors as well. look for an outback or forester, but an impreza would be cheaper...
