Onion is also used as a homeopathic remedy (it is called Cepa). This may be why. As I understand it, the only thing that really interferes with homeopathy is peppermint, but I have also seen this disputed.
There seems to be two schools of thought surrounding anti-dotes to homeopathy. Some say that it nothing interferes unless it is taken within a half hour of the medication. They say that the anti-dotes (such as peppermint) only acted as an anti-dote if they were taken during the homeopathic provings. A proving is when a large amount of a single substance is given to someone and their reactions are recorded. For example, drink a lot of coffee and get an upset stomach, jitters, etc. Therefore a homeopathic dose of coffee would cure an upset stomach, jitters, etc. They say that giving peppermint (or onion in your case) would cause a change in the person's reaction but only during the proving.
My personal experience is that homeopathy works as long as I don't take anything for a half hour before and after. Peppermint, Onions, or anything else has never effected the results I get. The hardest thing with homeopathy is finding the correct remedy because people have such different constitutions. I have seen people have to try three or four things before they get the right one. This is why it is a good idea to go to an experienced homeopath or an intuitive that can tell you accurately what to take.

my granny is, and her late sister was, obsessed with homeopathy. Little vials with infinitely diluted badger spit or whatever all over the house. Have to leave half an hour after brushing teeth before popping the pill, have to have clean hands, can't actually touch the pill at all (!), my goodness the whole thing is almost impossible. The explanation was that the dilution is tiny so even a very small amount of something strong tasting could destroy it.

Raw onions can be bad if you have a sensitive stomach; however, onions (and garlic) are homeopathic remedies for high blood pressure. Take it easy on the cheese and baguettes...the first is full of fat and the second is nothing but bad carbs (unless you are eating whole grain bread).

For the same reason you`re not supposed to have mint while on homeopathic medicines. You`re just not supposed to. Careful, I know from experience. If you don`t listen, the symptoms your taking the medicine for will come back 10 fold if you have raw onions if your not supposed to!

Whilst taking homeopathic medication you should not eat onions or peppermint.
These will both have a reaction against the homeopathic medication rendering it to be useless.

In my ongoing battle to dispel ignorance, I will say once again: homeopathy is a pseudoscience, like astrology. It is bogus.
Think about it. How can a medicine be so diluted as to contain not a single molecule of the original medicine...yet the water contains a "memory" of the medicine? Puh-leeze. If you believe that, I have a large steel bridge I would like to sell you, cheap.
Get smart, see a real doctor.

As homoeopathic 'medicines' contain absolutely no active ingredients at all, they can not interact with anything you consume.
You are being given water. Any advice is just part of the con/delusion.
Last year, a collection of European scientists carefully prepared homoeopathic solutions of a range of poisons, including arsenic and cyanide, and drank them in public. Result - nothing!
Homoeopathy has been debunked utterly on numerous occasions. Shame on big name retailers as well as quacks for perpetuating this snake oil game!
