It depends on where you are getting your tattoo, places along or near your spine will hurt more, you can ask someone at a tatoo parlor about the places it will probably hurt the most. You should prepare yourself mentally if anything.

You can practice by poking yourself with a needle over and over in the same spot. Thats pretty much what it feels like. There isn't really any way you can really prepare for it. You just do it. You can try taking a pain killer like Advil before you go, might help. I have four tattoos and you just have to grin and bear it. It does hurt, a lot, but if you really want one its worth it.

Everyone told me it would hurt so i was anticipating the worst but when the tattooist put the needle against my skin and started drawing, i asked is that it? I was really expecting so much pain but turns out its like someone scratching u, the needle is small and fast, u barely feel it. Get it done and dont worry about the pain, think of the result ure gonna have and ull not feel any pain.

Ever been stung by a bee? That's what it felt like for me. The outline was the worst. It felt like a bee was stinging the hell out of me. When he colored the inside it didn't hurt at all(different type of needle). so, for the first half I had a lollipop to suck on. You might want to bring a mp3 player with you.

it feels like a electric shock. It wont feel that bad until they start doing the shading and the coloring in. Even them it's not that bad it also depends where you get it. For your first time I would pick someplace with alot of meat.

i hate pain and I had one done on my lower back. It wasn't bad at all. Nothing like i was expecting it to be. Don't worry you don't cry or anything like that. It kind of feels like someone is rubbing something hard over the same spot and it is irritating.

It didn't feel like anything I've ever felt before. I found it uncomfortable but not bad enough to make him stop.....it was over pretty quickly because they are kinda small.

Just go to the tattoo parlor and see if they show you what it feel's like , they wont put any ink in the gun ....

cant test it out, but get good and drunk b4 and you wont feel it till the morning! have fun and pick a cool one!!!
