Paint on my new MB C230 is chipping really badly. Does anybody has the same problem or any suggestion?

Somebody already mentioned about touch up paint but this car is 2 months old! How is this going to look next year with this speed of chipping?
Don't you think if somebody is spending such a crazy money on the car should not expect some kind of quality?

This is brand a new car. I had appointment at the dealership today and they said this is "wear and tear" situation. I guess I will have to keep reporting this situation to them.
I saw that I can buy a clear car bra but the price for this is $1695. Are they kidding? I'm not able to buy regular car bra yet. Nobody makes them for this particular model yet. :(((

By the way Sue, what does "lemon" means?

Thanks all of you for advices (especially Dodge Man and Lew W). And small update: I contacted the Service Manager at the Dealership and asked to have my car refinished with standard clear coat. I am waiting for their response.

Nicloe! I called MB Main Office at the very beginning of this situation but they reffered me to one of the dealerships saying that dealership needs to take a look at it and decide. I knew they will not be willing to fix it without any fight. I just didn't have any idea what arguments to use.

Now, my next step will be to wait for dealership response and if they refuse any help again I will inform them that I will be looking for a lawyer to take care about the case.

78MB450SEL - thanks for advise but I wish it was so easy. Unfortunately, dealership gives me a hard time and so far they say there is nothing they can do.
Have fun with your "baby" ( I know you do)

MB has had some serious problems with their Cerami-clear paint, take it back to the dealership, and insist the entire car be refinished with a standard clear coat. Not just the effected areas.

Edited 8/24 : No car's finish should be chipping like you described unless you drive behind dumptrucks filled with rock and aggregate all day long. Be persistent and firm with the dealership. I'd also contact your state's Attorney General Office for help regarding Lemon Law statues. It doesn't hurt to inform the dealership you're going to be seeking that route of action as well.

If you see the paint is chipping from inside go back to dealer and ask to repair it with your warranty. If it's stone chirps or scratches, the warranty won't cover it, all new cars have thin paint now - just use wax and may be protective film for the front end and touch up any chips before they got rusted.

i think there is going to be a recall on them,,i heard from a friend who works for Benz dealer that there having a lot of trouble with the paint ,,he didn't say for sure ,,but the issue has been brought up,,and is being looked at,,you can help,,by filing a complaint with the dealer, this will help make it more known that there is a problem,,right now your car is covered by warranty,,and they will fix it,,free of charge,,good luck with it.

Take it back to the dealer and tell them it's a lemon. Is this a used car or a new car?

I don't own one, but I've had this problem. Go to a M-B specialty store and buy the touch-up toner to fix the problem. Worked for me.
