Given this historical fact do you believe that the US has a free or a CIA controlled press?

"The Central Intelligence Agency owns everyone of any significance in the major media."

You better believe it. Ultimately it's the Illuminati, the royal blooded crooks that run this world. Read about their plans for a new world order fascist police state. That's enough to scare me.

The problem isn't that the media is controlled by the CIA or certain corporations. The problem is that the media is a for profit organization that desperately depends on money from sponsors. That in addition to its affiliation with certain organizations and influenced by them, plus its partnership with the government on international issues (Iraq etc.) is the real problem.

The solution is to have a publicly funded news service of very high calibre. The news should be divided into the followinig segments: Straight News (just plain reporting of the event without bias), Round Table (covering all opinions but not forcing yours), Opinions (talk shows stuff with a specific slant). All this should be 24/7 and should be fiercely independent and well funded by the people.

Yes, I think the Media has free reign. There are many things I think they should not show on the news at times especially for our national security. But, I also know they are not always getting both sides of the story. I don't believe everything, that is out there for example this John Karr dude. I don't even think the media should be wasting time trying to speculate or figure stuff out or listen to hear say. What they need to do, is wait and get all the information and then tell the rest of us. It makes me sick, everytime you turn on the TV everyone is speculating, implying, nobody really knows nothing. Just like the Media rushed to Judgement on this little child's parents calling them murders and swayed the public into believing they killed their child, I have not seen the media apologize yet for the hell they've put that family through for over 10 years. I never believe they had anything to do with that little girls killing. The media I think at times wants you to be swayed to going in the direction they are going in, and I find it repulisive. They are not doing a good job. They need to get the facts and the truths and stop being one sided because they are not to me giving me the news they are giving me many times their opioins about things happening in the world. I want the facts. Plus they do not do any kind of peer review either, they just write stuff down and call it the truth and print it or go on TV, there is nothing to back up what they are saying many times. They are not being controlled by anyone they have loose lips.

They will only report it if there is backing for the story. If ole billy boy would have had better support from his followers or would have hired a gun the b!ow j0b story would never have made public. I mean so the guy got a BJ who cares.. I have had a few in my life and who cares? If he would have just been a republican he would have had a hit man go tell them to drop the story or they would be shut down for tax fraud or no telling what they could have used to shut down the press. Do you think 5 years ago that anyone could have stuck anything on Bush with out being tared and fethered and hung out to dry? The press will shut up quick when the money is taken away or the GOP sends a hit man to let someone know that their familys will have a crash on the way to school the next day or be kidnaped by Islam or something.

They have their ways to hush the press and they do it. Only thing that gets out is what they have planed to turn around on someone else to make someone else look bad. Make a fall guy to get someone else.

I've known several persons who work for various media companies and they would find your question ridiculous. You're probably one of those conspiracy nut cases.

The answer is NO. If there were then do you think the New York Times would be telling the enemy that we're checking their bank transactions? Would the press get the Abu Greib pictures? There is so much out there that gives the CIA and the administration grief, that your question is a joke. Every journalist is outthere to nail somebody - believe me.

did you see any crying, burnt/dead afghanistani babies during operation freedom after 9/11? If not, then you know the answer.
It's not that we don't have free media, it just so happens that the biggest media is the ones that happen to have politics on what they report or they could lose their sponsors, so while they are free to report whatever they want to, they won't because they will lose money.
