It seems the sentiment towards most Americans from most everyone outside of the US is very resentful. Is it politics or just the American people?

Having spent 14 of my first 18 years in europe I would like to interject this answer. First of all it has a lot to do with the americans' "better than thou attitude" which they may not show to other americans but let them go to another country and "POW" it is put on display for all the world to see. Now secondly our politics is profoundly unappreciated because our government thinks that everyone in the world has to live in a democracy like ours and if we can't get that through there heads then our government thinks we ought to put a bullet in their bodies and force them to accept our type of government. The same thing happened with Viet Nam where we lost our a**. We are now engaged in a war that we cnnot win and there will be no winners only a lot of dead bodies on all sides.

I don't think everybody hate Americans, but I guess most of the people around the world don't like the way American gov. is doing things...it seems like they own the world and it is not good. Some people can't see the difference between a gov. and the people and then would "hate" the people wrongly. I honestly don't like American president, but I think there are good and bad Americans as well as good and bad Argentinians or Arabic's, if you get what I mean.

People hate america not because of your freedom like what the *** you guys have as president but because on how you treat people in the world. Iraq no weapons of mass distruction, panama invade without UN permission want to break down barriers in poor third world countries while not breaking down yours. In america most people have to work two jobs to pay rent most other countries citizens do not have to.

most of the world does hate us and do you know why? its because we think we are better than everyone else. its because our morals as a country are falling, i mean just look at the tv its just a bunch of crap. we also put our noses into other peoples buissnes, we dont need to be over in iraq, so what if they have nuclear technology so does russia and most other places. we really havent had a real need to go to war since WW2.

Not all, but a good majority I would think are not too fond of us right now.
And for that idiot sstubss30 who said people are jealous of Americans I don't think the people who are being shot, bombed, and going through a lot of crap that you couldn't even imagined are jealous of anything.
They just want to live without fear of getting shot.

its has nothing to do with the American people.... they don't know us!!! its the way our government tries (does) police the world as if they own it.... and it is also the things that they have done to other countries that the American people will never know about if they do not do the research on their own.... its all really sad..... because they use TERROR tactics and have really perfected the term killing machine.. so no babe it really has nothing to do with US civilians

Good question!! The other day I was in Niagra Falls, NY. All the tourists there, believe it or not were mostly asian foriegners or middle eastern, so if we are hated so much, why do they come to our country to see the sights

overwelmingly the world hates us.
because of both politics and people...
we have to learn that the U.S. needs the world, but the world doesnt necesaraly need the U.S..... after all, we've only been here for 300 years.... civilization thrived for thousands of years without us...

very easy question i am a Mexican and i can tell you i don't hate you people i hate the people that make my life miserable, like us costumes every time i cross to the u.s. they treat people like drug dealers or worst, that is no way to treat a tourist hell. the economy of el paso TX would not exist if not for the people that go buy from Juarez.
in lame terms is your government that we hate.
