I do not know how to combine the two, i have done separate papers on analysis on a book and evaluation of a book. I do not know how to tie it together.

well they are not too different.. one will help u to do the other! for example u can first do the critical analysis. what is the book about? what is the author trying to say? what are the major themes? those are all Facts.. now to evaluate, u use the facts to evaluate whether the author was Successful in his attempt to prove something...... u can discuss whether or not the characters and plot were engaging, fun, easy to read, had a good moral, etc etc..those would be an evaluation of what was good and bad about the book! good luck~

your evaluation, is more like your opinion, your critique of the tone, reader intensity, etc..when you analyze it, just criticize the context, the plot twist and turns (or theories)..like if you were giving it a grade. In the end, you can evaluate it as a good book to read..but you may not like it. In other words, you'll respect the book, but not be your cup of tea.
