I am applying for a deputy sheriff position and they are asking for internship/work experience..is is reasonable for me to put the intership I WILL be starting next month?

If you are expecting to get position after you complete the internship then I don't think that it would be a problem.

sure, unless your resume is already filling an entire page. You need to puff yourself up to get a position. Yes, be humble on the interview, but you have to let them know you can do the job and you do want it. even if it is not related, it shows good work ethics.

Deputy Sheriff is a very important job. Very demanding and filled with responsibility. Not just everyone is suited for such. Good luck to you and keep up the good attitude. Self confidence is a guaranteed winner.

A planned internship or externship should go on your resume but you need to clearly indicate the dates it will be occurring.

To just list it without making clear it has not yet begun could be interpreted as falsifying information.

I suggest you do list it but NOT under "employment" Rather list it as "Awards and Honors". After all, you were awarded the internship.....
