I don't think he would do to well there. He would have to back up Joe Johnson which for him is bad because he doesn't like coming off the bench. The Hawks aren't gonna persue Bonzi. *The whole reason why they traded Harrington(it's official now go to http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/index?&lpos=globalnav&lid=gn_NBA_NBA) was to clear cap space to go after a bigger free agent in future years. Bonzi is most likely headed to Denver.
*'07 free agents include: Vince Carter,Rashard Lewis,Mike Bibby,Chauncey Billups,Antawn Jamison,and Gerald Wallace.
This seems to be a good move for the Hawks because they have a good core of young players that include: Joe Johnson,Marvin Williams,Sheldon Williams,Josh Smith,Josh Childress,Royal Ivey and Salim Stoudemire. The Hawks look to be on the rise just give them maybe a year or two more.

Atlanta is young and has cap room now. They dont need a 30 year old player. Lets not forget Bonzi is very injury prone. Look for the Hawks to save their money till next year and be at the bottom of the standings one more year.

first off, bonzi would fit in ANYWHERE that will let him play.
that said, bonzi is now junk material. he's scrap metal. he is no longer a fantasy stud and only very inconsistently will come through with big game numbers. like maybe once a month he'll go off.
atlanta's problems are soo thick, it's going to take more than bonzi but like maybe two maybe three studs to turn it around even a little. the organization is in too thick of water to have bonzi running the show.

The Hawks have a logjam at the SG position. There's nothing Bonzi Wells does better than Joe Johnson, so it would be silly to sign him.
Doesn't matter though. Their current ownership legal battle prohibits them from signing any free agents to anything longer than a 1 year deal.

I liked the Hawks while the had Spud Webb and Dominic Wilkins. i'm no longer a huge fan of them anymore yet I do like Bibby and Joe Johnson seeing as though i'm from AZ. I additionally think of Josh Smith. I knew no longer something approximately him final 3 hundred and sixty 5 days till I had him on a delusion league and he's a real stable participant. stable success interior the eastern convention. i think of this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days that's going to be the Cav's no longer Boston.
