That Day

I will never forget that day,
we stood in front of the Lord and said I do.

It was the happiest and loveliest day of my life,
because the dream that I’ve wished for, came true.

There is no greater feeling on earth,
than for a man, to let his love flow like a stream.

To be able to love and hold his wife at night,
and to wake up, next to his dream.

Of all these wonderful years I have loved her,
in so many precious and beautiful ways.

I will never forget the day she married me,
and that day, the Lord took my wife and child away.

Well, I guess one day was happy and the other sad. Hope it didn't really happen that way, at the end anyway. It is really a beautiful poem. If only we thought that way, that life is precious and can be taken, live each day as if it were the last. In 9-11, that was a living proof, who would think that such a thing would happen in this country.

Do you want my honest opinion? I think it is a wonderful story. It is very sad, yet you know there was a lot of joy in your life until you lost them. I makes me want to cry.

Honestly? It's alright. The last line doesn't flow that well and it kinda doesn't make sense. One minute she's sleeping next to you, but it kinda sounds like she died the day you married her. So, I'm not sure. The idea behind it, the message and sentiment it carries it beautiful! Just needs a little "face lift".

I like that! If you wrote it, it's quite good. But the ending is so sad. I hope for your sake it didn't end that way. But the poetry is very good.
