Birch is a tree / a shrub plant of wide variety colors the most popular of which are white, silver, grey, yellow, gold, red and black. When we refer to 'birch' as a color, we mean the color of the original particular species of this tree. It could be any of the above mentioned colors. So, there's no fixed color with the name 'birch'.

It is really hard to figure out what people are referring to when they say a color is "birch" since there are many shades of birch. I think of birch as a pale oak type wood color.
