The purpose is quite simple. Knowledge. This question is quite open-ended however the daunting thing is that perhaps life might have no purpose and that we are extras in a much larger play. However I say knowledge because if we know more about how this Universe works we may be the rulers of our own fate. Add our own purpose for existence.

I think the purpose of existance could be to explore all posibilities (which is of course endless).

That doesnt need a God like thing, but it might do.

But if you look at this planet, get over our human centered view of the universe (hard to do but its not as if anyone really tries) then maybe it seems like matter, anti matter, etc, stuff generally (of which we are just a fleeting teeny tiny whisp of) seems to expand and diversify. Planets, stars, forces of the universe seen and unseen seem to want to vary, change continously (however slowly or quickly that might be).

Another way you could look at it, in terms of our current main religion of 'science' would be existance being about moving from a increasing to decreasing entropy. So Roughly speaking, this is from things moving from (wherever it was) to increasing disorder from that place. I guess another way of saying the same thing.

Of course, you're guessing that such a question actually has some bearing on the nature of things - but whos to say we are not all aspects of you're dream and there is only you and nothing else in all of exisitance (we are just in you're imagination).

How do you really know that anything you know is true at all? what is true, what most people agree on at the time? pretty useless as that will inevitably change (where have i heard that one before....) and is truth really based on democracy...?

Maybe questions are the worst way to understand things, causing us to simplify the world so we think we will understand things better, chopping it up into little bits then not understanding why it doesnt fit together - maybe we should be doing something else instead of asking questions.....like just observing (very underrated).....or maybe getting a job...do you have one?!

The purpose of an existence is not the same for everybody. The purpose is defined once existence has been established. Therefore, your question is like asking what is the flavour of ice-cream.

The purpose of existence is to be. The question shouldn't be the purpose of existence. The question should be;

To be, or not to be.

The purpose of existence is to find the purpose of existence.

Maybe it is like a game, we enter ,we grow, we learn, we breed, and then pass on our knowledge so that things evolve here on earth at level one. We then die, get elevated to level two, and start another game, like the games on the PC I cant tell you the purpose, maybe you find out at level 2, or 3, or 4, just an idea!!.

Depends on your beliefs.

Some say you live to die.

Some say this is a clever game that we've created (almost like the matrix),

Some say as a test to show the all mighty whether we are worthy of heaven.

But as I started this out, the answer will always be...to die.

To explore and experience life. No real purpose but to have a journey that helps to create a unique individual, that is you.

Existence is non-purposive.
The verb "to be" has no object, it takes a predicate. It is self-referential.
In other words, I am because I am.
The purpose of existence is existence itself.

Universe is like playground of god and to find the meaning of existence, one needs to look within. It is the start of spiritual journey within and one who finds himself , finds the answer to all the confusion and chaos of mind and heart.
